Permanent housing available for veteran families, couples and surviving spouses of Veterans

CLAYTON, NJ—In September 2018, Camp Salute is scheduled to be fully operational with residents.

According to People for People President, Bernadette Blackstock, “Things are moving right along and after our Application Day event, we have a majority of the one bedroom unit apartments accounted for. Now is the hard part—finding families and couples for the two and three bedroom units.”

Applications being accepted!

CLAYTON, NJ—After several years of planning the Camp Salute Community, a 76-unit apartment complex being built with a veteran and veteran surviving spouse preference, partners People for People and Conifer LLC have started accepting applications for residents. First occupancy is scheduled for early June 2018. With a room full of over 80 veterans and family from all over South Jersey, several regional veteran organizations worked with each veteran to fill out their application.

Camp Salute Veterans Housing Program Awarded $1.7 Million In Tax Credits

 WEST DEPTFORD – Senate President Steve Sweeney and Robert M. Damminger, Gloucester County Freeholder Director announced today that newly-created Camp Salute in Clayton was awarded $1.7 million in tax credits for the construction of 76 low-income housing units, primarily for veterans.
